The Fol-Da-Tank Flying Grey Water Helicopter Portable Tanks are used to carry from 72 to 300 gallons of gray water to remote locations for fighting forest fires. 

These portable water tanks are transportable by helicopter or by truck and are used for filling backpack tanks, potable water and extinguishing duff embers.

Inspection of Fol-Da-Tank Flying Gray Water Tanks

  • Before/After each flight use: Inspect all heat sealed seams for any tears.
  • Inspect all stitching of the harness for any loose stitching.
  • Inspect the dropped forged aluminum choker delta rings.   (Rated at 40,000 lbs.)
  • Inspect the dropped forged “D” rings (rated at 5,000 lbs. each) or grab handles placed on the side of the tank bladder.
  • Inspect the 4” fill cap on top of the tank. (or a PVC flange if requested on the tank)
  • The flyer tank should be stress tested regularly by hanging the bladder from an engine hoist that is rated for the water weight, or a helicopter can raise the tank for aerial inspection.
  • Consider replacing the Flyer tank after 3-4 years of use.  This is if the tank has be use often.
  • Warranty is for 2 (two) years from purchase date.  Warranty includes: all heat sealed seams, and fabric UV delamination.  We only use the best quality fabrics and parts for this type of tank!!
  • Emergency patch kits are available.
  • Always store flyer tanks indoors in a clean dry area free of rodents and pests.
  • For 72 & 134 gallon flyers: Inspect all hose and connection outlets.

CAUTION!  If the tank has been subjected to fire, immediate inspection is required!!

Testing of 72, 134, 200 & 300 gallon flyers before shipping to customer:

  • When cutting the fabric all fabric is inspected for imperfections
  • After the bladder is completed we inspect all heat sealed seams.
  • Inspection of webbing and hardware is done before assembly.
  • After completion of the bladder we air pressure test for any leaks
  • Hydro testing of bladders is done to see if there is any leaking.
  • The bladder is now cleaned and dried for shipment.
  • At each stage employees must initial their part of the assembly before shipping.
  • Maintenance, cleaning and warranty instructions are included with every tank.

When will my order deliver?

Orders are confirmed with a target ship date at the time the order is placed. 

What are typical lead times?

Most items are less than 3 weeks.  Custom products may require longer.

What are the dimensions and weight of a tank?

For common size tanks, dimensions and weights are listed in our product brochure and on our website.

What are the flow rates for the float dock strainers?

Flow rates will vary from the design of the pump. 1500-2000 gpm is highly achievable in most Float Dock Strainer sizes.  Call our experts for more information.

What is the difference between a foot valve and a clapper valve?

A foot valve is mechanically spring operated and a clapper valve is a rubber seal that uses water weight to hold the prime or suction.

Estimated Product Handling: 2 to 3 days

After placing an order, customers have up to 48 hours to cancel the order unless the item has been crated and/or shipped.

Orders for large or heavy items ship via a trucking carrier. Freight delivery is typically 2 to 6 business days, allow extra time for remote locations.

The Freight Carrier or Tucking company will contact you to set up an appointment time before delivering.  Once your product leaves our warehouse, we will send you an email with a link to the freight carrier’s website and the tracking number. Tracking numbers take 1 business day to update.

Package Inspection

Please inspect your package upon delivery. If there is obvious damage, please note the damages on the delivery receipt. Contact us within 24 hours to report the damage, by either e-mail or phone. Please retain all original boxes and packaging.

Returns (Applies to Fol-Da-Tank products only)

  • All returns must be pre-authorized and require a return authorization.  Please email sales@tankretailer.com to request a return authorization.  
  • Returns are accepted for brand new and unopened products only.  No products may be returned after installation or attempted installation.
  • All returns must be requested within 30 calendar days from the delivery date.
  • The product must be in the original packaging and include all packaging materials, crates, boxes, and pamphlets.
  • All returns include a 25% restocking fee.
  • Customers are required to pay for the cost of return freight shipping.
  • The final return amount will be calculated as the Purchase Price less return shipping cost less the 25% restocking fee.

FOL-DA-TANK, LLC provides a limited lifetime warranty for workmanship and material defects on its manufactured products.
