Tonneau Cover Considerations

If you are trying to fit a fuel tank toolbox combo below a standard tonneau cover, we recommend taking careful measurements of your tonneau cover height first.

Also make sure to check if the top of the fuel tank toolbox has a fill neck. A standard top mounted fill neck can add up to 2.5 inches to the overall tank height.

Some fuel tanks have an outside fill neck which can be very helpful if you need to minimize tank height.

Tank Toolbox Combo Types

Fuel tank toolbox combos are available as a transfer tank or as an auxiliary tank.

• Auxiliary tank toolbox combos - Allow you to transfer fuel from your tank to your truck fuel tank. You must have diesel fuel in your truck to use an auxiliary fuel tank.
• Transfer Tank Toolbox Combos - Are portable fuel tanks that can carry diesel, gas and other fuel types that can only be dispensed with a fuel pump connected to the tank. Transfer tanks can not transfer fuel to your truck fuel tank.

Fuelbox Under Tonneau Fuel Tank Toolbox Combo

Fuelbox offers one of the lowest profile fuel tank toolbox options on the market with a height of just 17.5 inches. The fill neck is conveniently located inside the toolbox to minimize height.

If you want to use this tank as an auxiliary fuel tank, you need to purchase Fuelbox's proprietary auto fuel controller system.  You could alternatively use this tank as a transfer tank by purchasing a fuel pump that can be stored in the top compartment of the toolbox.

Dimensions:

• 40 Gallon: 62 inches long by 23 inches wide by 17.5 inches high
• 45 Gallon: 62 inches long by 20 inches wide by 17.5 inches high
• 55 Gallon: 53 inches long by 30 inches wide by 17.5 inches high

Note: add 2.25 inches on each side for bottom side mounting tabs.

ATTA Transfer Tank Toolbox Combo

ATTA offers a DOT Approved transfer tank toolbox that can carry gas or diesel fuel. This tank requires a portable fuel pump to dispense fuel from the tank. 

Dimensions:

• 50 Gallon: 19 inches high by 20 inches wide by 60 inches long
• 45 Gallon: 19 inches high by 20 inches wide by 60 inches long

The 45 gallon size includes notches which reduces the fuel capacity.

Note: This tank is designed to fit full sized trucks with 8 foot and 6.5 foot beds. It will not fit a 6.5 foot bed Dodge or 6.5 foot bed Ford 150. May interfere with Dodge short bed factory puck system.

ATTA Auxiliary Tank Toolbox Combo

If you have a diesel powered truck, you might want to consider a low profile ATTA auxiliary fuel tank toolbox combo which lets you transfer diesel fuel to your truck's fuel tank.

In order to transfer diesel fuel to your factory fuel tank, you need to use ATTA's proprietary fuel transfer system.

Dimensions:

• 34 Gallon: 19 inches tall by 14 inches wide by 60 inches long
• 45 Gallon: 19 inches tall by 20 inches wide by 60 inches long
• 70 Gallon: 19 inches tall by 26 inches wide by 60 inches long

The 34 gallon size works with short & long bed Dodge, Ford and GM trucks. The 45 gallon only fits short bed Dodge diesel trucks. The 70 gallon is designed for long bed trucks.

Add 1.5 inches to the front and rear of the tank for hold down tabs.

ATI L Shaped Transfer Tank Toolbox Combo

If you need a larger capacity toolbox with your fuel tank, you might want to consider this L shaped fuel tank toolbox combo. The 47 gallon size offers a lower profile height.

You do need to mount a fuel pump on top of this tank and the fill neck adds an extra 2.5 inches of height to the top of the tank.

• 47 Gallon: 36.25 inches long by 30 inches wide by 18 inches high
